Daniel F. Sheehan. P.E.
Dan has been a thought leader and an integral partner in the development and implementation of maritime safety and marine environmental protection regimes. His detailed knowledge of proceedings at the International Maritime Organization comes from many years of heading and participating in delegations at all levels of IMO.
He served in USCG as a member of the Senior Executive Service with the USCG held the following positions.
-Director of Information and Technology, (CIO), U.S. Coast Guard.
-Director, National Pollution Funds Center, U.S. Coast Guard.
-Associate Program Director, Office of Maritime Safety, Security, and Environmental Protection.
-First chairman of the Interagency Oil Spill Prevention and Response Research and Development Committee mandated by the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.
He is a Graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering, a graduate of The National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and a graduate of George Washington University with a Master of Public Administration. Member of Pi Alpha Alpha, national honor society for students of Public Administration.
Mr. Anil Arora
Mr. Anil Arora graduated from the prestigious Indian Maritime institution D.M.E.T at the top of his class. After his sea career where he obtained Steam and Motor Chief Engineer Certification, he worked as an Engineer Surveyor with Lloyd’s Register Classification society for 8 years. He then worked in various ascending senior management positions in Univan Ship Management for 9 years before moving over to Unique shipping as Technical Manager and then ascending to Director / Head of Shipmanagement and Projects.
Unique Shipping (HK) Limited is a well known Hong Kong shipping company whose fleet consisted of reefers, container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and LPG carriers. They were also involved with number of new building projects in Japan, Korea and China.
After retiring from Unique Shipping, after a service of almost 20 years, he worked as Senior Advisor & Non-Executive Director with shipowners Shinyo International.
He has been Member of Technical and other Committees of Lloyd’s Register (LR), American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV), Class NK, DNV(Greater China Committee, Machinery Group) for over 10 years including Chairman of the Class NK Technical Committee since 2017. He was also member of HKSOA Marine Sub Committee, HKFOAC and Shipping Consultative Committee of Hong Kong Marine Department and Intertanko Gas Technical Committee (GTC) where he was a founding member.
He was appointed Advisor to the Hong Kong Govt. delegation to the Diplomatic Conference of IMO Hong Kong Convention held in May’2009
He is an active participant in various Maritime Forums and is passionate about learning and teaching.
He advises MarinePALS on various topics, including Engineering training, Decarbonization and Alternate Fuels.

Over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry, I am an experienced Maritime Technical Advisor, Presenter and Chairperson with a passion for communications technologies, education and training, and vessel tracking. Skilled in Simulation Training, Vessel Traffic Services, Operations Management, Government, Emergency Management, and International Shipping. IALA expert for VTS, Aids to Navigation(AtoN) and E-navigation. I have a passion for diversity and inclusion, including empowering women in maritime. A Fellow of both the Royal Institute of Navigation and the Nautical Institute, I am currently the Immediate Past President of the Nautical Institute. Strong business development professional with a M. Ed focused in Adult education / CBT and curriuclum development from University of Toronto.
